A Celebration of American Labor History in Song

Winooski will kick off its VT Reads 2018 programming with a free concert for all ages by Vermont based folk entertainer, Rik Palieri. Rik will weave together a collection of historic labor songs, storytelling, and sing-along that will reveal the history of labor unions and the power of song to unify. A free community dinner will be available pre-concert at 6pm. Concert begins at 6:30pm. Limited Seating.
This program is sponsored by the Heritage Winooski Mill Museum in support of a grant for a community wide reading of Bread and Roses Too, by Katherine Paterson. The historical fiction novel tells the story of the 1912 “Bread and Roses” strike in textile mills in Lawrence, Ma. through the eyes of two children.
